{"id":144,"date":"2018-06-08T04:58:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T04:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbs.fz-juelich.de\/?page_id=144"},"modified":"2023-10-11T21:15:09","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T21:15:09","slug":"2nd-joint-workshop-of-riken-rap-and-jcns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iff1925.iff.fz-juelich.de\/?p=144","title":{"rendered":"2nd Joint Workshop of RIKEN RAP and JCNS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Japanese RIKEN Center for Advanced Photonics (RAP) and the J\u00fclich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) held their second joint workshop on compact accelerator-driven neutron sources (CANS) on 14-15 May, 2018 at Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich. The workshop tackled common research topics regarding the development of target and moderator systems for CANS at both institutes.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Thomas Gutberlet of the High Brilliance neutron Source (HBS) project at JCNS welcomed the guests from RIKEN and highlighted the importance of the collaboration of both insitutes in this field. With its expertise in the field, the RIKEN group collaborates with JCNS to further develop the concept of the HBS in J\u00fclich and to establish common projects on target, moderator and instrument development. RIKEN benefits from the expertise of JCNS in developing neutron targets and moderator systems as well as instrumentation and expertise in operating neutron instruments worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day workshop gave rise to a multitude of common topics which were discussed intensely.
